OPEN D5 TUNING: D-A-D-A-A-d
6th string: Tune bottom E string DOWN to D
5th and 4th strings: Standard tuning
3rd String: Tune G string UP to A
2nd string: Tune B string DOWN to A
1st string: Tune high E string DOWN to D
(Take care tuning up your 3rd string,
old strings might not take it too well)

If, like me, you find the original key is still too
high to sing the very high notes drop the tuning down
another whole tone to C-G-C-G-G-c
The chord shapes are the same, but will sound as
C5-Gsus4-Am7-Fsus2, and as an F5 for high riff chord.
You'll need to take more care not to play too heavily
particularly on the bottom string being a lot slacker
it may need a bit more fine tuning more often to keep
all the strings in pitch.
I wouldn't recommend the low C tuning if you're using
very light gauge strings.
