This is just Zach's part.
Use the neck pickup.
Zach used two compressors. One before his reverb and one after.
His reverb and compressors were placed first in his chain. Everything else after.
For this song, I found a high decay rate works, but it shouldn't wash out the delays.
With plugins you can swap this around real quick and find the tone that works for you.
I've seen them use Morgan SW50R amps in the past.
However, Zach mainly used a 70s Fender Bassman 100 head and a Hot Rod Deville 2x12 combo.
Any clean amp as a pedal platform should get you in the ballpark though.
Jeremy loved his Roland JC-120. Think he had a Deville too.
Settings I used for my amp were 4 on Treble, 6 on Mids and 9 Bass.
But you should tweak yours around to find the sound you like best.
Use two digital delays:
First one 469ms with 8 repeats and the mix at 3/4, the other 313ms with 4 repeats at 1/2 mix.
Song tempo = 96 BPM. So that'd be a dotted 8th note delay (ala The Edge) with an 8th note delay.
There's a gradual tone sweep in the intro from 0:00 to 0:24.
A wah or a filter pedal will work great for this if you have one.
You can leave it on (toe down) for the entire song after that bit.
Makes it sound nice and bright.
I won't recommend a too bright amp setting if you're using a wah though!
It can get really ice-picky real quick.
Mikey would turn the tone knob on Zach guitar up to achieve this live.
If you're using plugins, you can automate this.
CRUCIAL:
To get the sound correct, lightly palm mute the E, A & D strings with G having a little more open ring to it.
Don't mute the B string at all.
