Chords

This song is played around a waltz tempo but I vary the strumming pattern to suit the theme. You can get away with tucking a C7 between the G7 and G in the verse if it suits your style. For the F C at the end of the verse I like to play F as 3013 so I can hammer/pull for effect but elsewhere I just play the standard open 3010. [Refrain]
       G G7 C
In the blue Canadian Rockies

          G G7 F C F C
Spring is silent through the trees

        G G7 C
And the golden poppies are blooming

           G G7 C
'Round the banks of Lake Louise
[Verse]
     C F C
Now, oh, how my lonely heart is aching tonight

         G C
For that girl I left behind

                  F C
And, oh, what I'd give if I could be there tonight

         D7 G
With the sweetheart who's waitin' for me
[Refrain]
