This song has a few main ideas with many variants inside; nearly
every part of this song is a variant. The live version from November 7 1980 (linked below) may
be a bit simpler, I didn't listen to it closely.
It might help if you imagine you're not playing one part here;
treat each set of strings as its own instrument.

Guitar Tone:

Guitar Used: Mosrite V-I model, a 1971 - 1974 version of the 1960s Mosrite Ventures I model
(without association or endorsement from the Ventures.) This model has a wider
neck than the 1960s Mosrite Guitars, and a slightly different pickup than the 1960s versions,
but it's still a Mosrite design of pickup. The guitar's scale length is just shorter than
a Gibson, at 24.50".
A similar guitar that will get very close to the same tone is a Hallmark 65 Custom.

.054, .044, .034, empty, .018p, .018p
I'm not certain if this is what was used in studio, but these gauges were used live, at least.
