This is a fairly easy song to play, and fun too. The chords are relatively simple, but I could never play the
Em chord correctly until I listened very closely and watched Dean DeLeo play. Enjoy and I hope that you rock
to this!
The intro solo is played on a slide guitar, but if you have a slide and want to hear it out, it shouldn't be
too difficult :D. Here are the chords:
Verse: Chorus: Bridge:
Em [022030] G [355433] G5 [355xxx]
C [x32010] A [577655] F5 [133xxx]
C7 [x32310] C [81010988] Asus2 [x02200]
E [022100]
Quick note: C in the chorus is a barre chord, and Asus2 is an optional chord (if you play F5 in its place it sounds totally fine actually, maybe even better)
Intro:
Em C C7
Verse:
Em C C7 Driving faster in my car. Em C C7 Falling farther from just what we are. Em C C7 Smoke a cigarette and lie some more, C7 These conversations kill. Em C C7 Falling faster in my car...
Chorus:
G A Time to take her home, C Her dizzy head is conscious laden. G A C Time to take a ride, it leaves today, C No conversation. G Time to take her home, C Her dizzy head is conscious laden. G A C Time to wait too long, to wait too long, C To wait too long.
Bridge:
G5 F5 Asus2 E
Slide Solo:
Em C C7
Verse:
Em C C7 Too much walking shoes worn thin. Em C C7 Too much trippin' and my soul's worn thin. Em C C7 Time to catch her ride it leaves today, C7 Her name is what it means. Em C C7 Too much walking shoes worn thin...
Chorus:
G A Time to take her home, C Her dizzy head is conscious laden. G A C Time to take a ride, it leaves today, C No conversation. G A Time to take her home, C Her dizzy head is conscious laden. G A C Time to wait too long, to wait too long, C To wait too long.
Bridge:
G5 F5 Asus2
E G5 F5 Asus2 E Conversations kill! E G5 F5 Asus2 E Conversations kill! E G5 F5 Asus2 E Conversations kill!
(If you listen you can hear how the chords change)
Guitar Solo:
A
(okay so this was really difficult but I found it out: play an A barre chord arpeggio--if you don't know what that means all it is, is playing each note of the chord individually--on the low E, A ,D, and G strings, and
after playing the G string move your finger one fret up and back down)
E G5 F5 Asus2 E (End on E) Conversations kill!

So that's it! I hope you enjoy, this is a great song. My chord variation may sound odd, but I can promise if
you play along you'll hear the difference. I always played it differently than this, and wondered why it
didn't seem right. I was able to adjust it thankfully. Rock on! RIP Scott Weiland.
