Edit: I haven't noticed, but it turns out @uncleDarren commented some time ago, on version 1, a very similar way of playing the song. Well, now we have it tabbed! Hey guys! Here is a different version of "The mute" by radical face. Versions 1 and 2 of the tab/chords require a capo on the 6th or 7th fret. The version below does not require, necessarily, the capo, as you can achieve the same effect tuning your guitar half a tone up. That means, you can choose either to fit the capo on the first fret of your guitar or just tune it half a way up. Tabbed it by ear, so pardon any possible mistakes. Overall, I thought it sounded nice and wanted to share it with you guys. No more jibber jabbing, here goes! Hope you like it. C chord variation: When going from C to Am, I found that this progression really felt right and sounded like what happens in the song (It can be used in any of te C - Am "pairs"):
        C C Bm9 Bm9 Am
e|------0--0--------0--0--------0------|
B|------1--1--------1--1--------1------|
G|------0--0--------0--0--------2------|
D|------2--2--------0--0--------2------|
A|--3---3--3----2---2--2----0---0------|
E|-------------------------------------|
Note: I recommend you play the whole song without a pick, just strumming with your hands/nails. It makes thigs a whole lot easier after you practice a little. I say that because of the strumming pattern of the tabbing above. I do it hitting the A string notes with my index finger and then down and up with the strumming. But of course, suite yourselves to play it the way you feel confortable. [Intro] C C11 C Am E11 G9 (2x) C [Verse 1]
Am F C
Well, as a child I mostly spoke inside my head

Am F C
I had conversations with the clouds, the dogs, the dead

Am F C
And they thought my broken, that my tongue was coated lead

           G F Am
But I just couldn't make my words make sense to them

            G F C C11 C
If you only listen with your ears... I can't get in

Am F C
And I spent my evenings pullin' stars out of the sky

Am F C
And I'd arrange them on the lawn where I would lie

Am F C
And in the wind I'd taste the dreams of distant lives

            G F Am
And I would dress myself up in them through the night

         G F C C11 C
While my folks would sleep in separate beds... and wonder why
[Chorus] Am F C Am F C Am F C G F Am G F G C [Verse 2]
Am F C
And through them days I was a ghost atop my chair

Am F C
My dad considered me a cross he had to bear

Am F C
And in my head I'd sing apologies and stare

      G F Am
As my mom would hang the clothes across the line

              G F C C11 C
And she would try to keep the empty... from her eyes

Am F C
So, then one afternoon I dressed myself alone

Am F C
I packed my pillowcase with everything I owned

Am F C
And in my head I said "goodbye," then I was gone

      G F Am
And I set out on the heels of the unknown

      G F Am
So my folks could have a new life of their own

        G F
So that maybe I could find someone

          G F C C11 C
Who could hear the only words that I'd known
[Chorus] Am F C Am F C Am F C Am F C Am F C Am F C Am F C G F Am G F G
