At this point, Mike takes a bunch of ideas and shuffles them around randomly. They are all the same idea, over about two different octaves. The chords alternate between A and D, so I will show you each different way of doing each chord.

For the second half of the horn solo, Mike does a simple variation of the first half (the same, what I call, "climbing jazz bass"), but instead of end on the D, be ends on an E, like so:
