Attempt to capture the way he plays this one in the February 20, 2021 announcement video for his upcoming live stream of the full album of All the Pretty Lights: Note there are some lyrics here that are different from the official version of the song. I think the changes my have been unintentional, but I captured what he sings in the video linked above. He plays a triplet rhythm throughout on this song. The chord in the intro indicated as Bm* is an open voicing he likes to use for finger picking that is much like an Am7 shifted up 2 frets (jGuitar.com lists one of the names for this voicing as Bm#5add5). jGuitar lists the Em* and G* from the first line of the intro as (among other names) Emadd11add9 and G6sus2/E. The timing is a bit tricky for me on this one. Note, for example, that in lines 1 and 3 of verse 1, the words "there's" and "And" come on beat 4 of the first C chord. In verse 3, the first two words of lines 1, 2, and 3 come during beat 4 of the first chord as pickups to the second measure. C C G Gsus4 G
Well there's a river that runs to Glasgow

   Em C G Gsus4 G
It makes her and it breaks her and takes her in two parts

C C Dadd4 Em G
And her current just like my blood flows

               C Dadd4 G C/G G
Down from the hills, that I stand alone, like my restless heart
[Chorus]
C G D
Well I would swim but the river is so wide. And, I'm

C G D
scared I won't make it to the other side. Well,

C G D G Gsus4 G
God knows I've failed but he knows that I've tried

C G D
I long for something that's safe and warm.

C G D
But, all I have is all that is gone.

C G D G Gsus4 G
I'm as helpless and as hopeless as a feather on the Clyde

[Verse 2]
C C G C/G G
Well on one side all the lights glow

        Em C G C/G G
And the kids know where the folks go when the music and the drinking starts

C C Dadd4 Em G
On the other side where no ca-a-ars go

          C Dadd4 G C/G G
Up to the hills that stand alone like my restless heart
[Chorus]
C G D
Well I would swim but the river is so wide. And, I'm

C G D

C G D G C G
God knows I-I've failed but he knows that I've tried

C G D
I long for something that's safe and warm.

C G D
But, all I have is all that is gone. I'm

C G D G C G
as helpless and as hopeless as a feather on the Clyde
[Bridge]
Em G C G

Em G C G
Hey-ey-ey, hey-ey-ey

Em G C G Am7 D7
  Oh-oh, oh-oh-oh-oh
[Verse 3]
C C G Gsus4 G
When the sun sets late in Glasgow

Em C G Gsus4 G
And the daylight and the city pa-a-art

C C Dadd4 Em G
And I think of you in Gla-a-asgow

                  C Dadd4 N.C. G
