^ This is actually played by a 2nd
guitar doing the top part of riff
3... but with some practice, it
can sound pretty good with just
                                       one guitar
HAPPINESS IN SLAVERY: distorted synth & drum sounds here...
(:32) Main bass riff (I think, someone help me with this):
G------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A--------------------------1---------------------------------------------|
E--0--1-1-1--4---0--1h2p1-----2------------------------------------------|
             ^slide down

(:48) Guitar riff 1:
E--------------------------|
B--------------------------|
G--------------------------|
D--------------------------|
A---3-----4---3------------|
E---1-----2---1------------|

(1:08) Guitar riff 2, very fast:
E------------------------------------------------------------------------|
B------------------------------------------------------------------------|
G------------------------------------------------------------------------|
D------------------------------------------------------------------------|
A--3--3--3--4--4--5--5--5--6--6--6--7--7--8--8---------------------------|
E--1--1--1--2--2--3--3--3--4--4--4--5--5--6--6---------------------------|
muted, first time thru pick only E string, the rest pick chords.
then bass line for a couple of chorus: (don't open your eyes...)
(1:52) Guitar riff 3
smoothly:
E--------------------------|
B--------------------------|
G------------------5^------|<-micro-bend up 1/2 fret or so to give
D---3h4p3---3h4p3----4-----| the right sound.
A--------------------------|
E--------------------------|
(3:11) harmonics in the bass riff: (3:28) back to riff 1. (3:44) 2nd guitar plays figure 3.
outro:
E--------------------------|
B-------6------------------|
G---5---3---6^^5-----------|
D---3-------4^^3-----------|
A-----------slide----------|
E--------------------------|
        ^3-fret power chord.

The "X" signifies the muting/dampening of the string. Suggestions: play the 7 on A with your index finger. Play the 9 on D with your 4th (out of 5) finger. Play the 10 on D with your pinky. Play the 7 on G with your 3rd finger and leave it there - don't lift it for the remainder of the measure. Play the 10 on A with the 4th, play the 9 on B also with the 4th and hold it there to ring out for the rest of the measure. Keep the E and A string as a steady drone.

Play all 4 measures over and over, etc... Suggestions: same fingering for the third measure as the first. I find it easiest to play the 7-7 in the fourth measure with my 3rd and 4th fingers. Then when I hit the 6 on D, I can use my index finger without lifting my third finger up. Let the first 6 on D ring for that extra eighth note. Let the 7 on G ring for the remainder of the measure. From: [email protected] (John Vettese) Here are some corrections...I think they sound better than what you had previously posted here. PINION I have no idea how this one got screwed up. 1: 2: 3: 4: 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 5: 3 4 5 6 3 4 5 6 6 4 6: 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 Repeat that 8 times getting louder each time. WISH This one was pretty good, except you forgot this: 1: 2: 3: 12 10 12 13 12 12 10 12 13 12 12 10 12 13 12 10~~~~ 4: 10 12 10 12 10 12 5: 6: A second guitar plays that twice during the outro HAPPINESS IN SLAVERY What you had was actually a pretty good tabbing of this song. The only thing is you tabbed it a half step lower than it is on the CD. To avoid any confusion, I'm tabbing my correction that way too. The guitar riff 3 actually goes like this: 1: ) 2: 5 4 3: 4: 3^4^3~~~~ 3^4^3 5: 6: The main bass riff sound wrong, but I don't own a bass so maybe somone else out there could fix it... GAVE UP Why didn't you post it? It goes something like this: 1: 2: 3: 2 4 5 4 2 4: 2 4 2 4 4 5 4 2 4 5: 2 4 0 2 4 3 2 0 4 6: 0 2 2 2 The second verse is E5 - F#5 at the 7th and 9th fret (I think). I would post the synth solo after the first chorus but I'm not bored enough to try and figure it out. Can anyone else out there tab it?
