There are many variations on this song with slightly different lyrics and chords than the original written by Henare Waitoa. I simply chose to transcribe the version I am familliar with, and this is by no means the 'correct way' to play the song. 2. The key to performing the rhythm for this song is ensuring you emphasise those muted accent strums on beats 2 and 4. I've also provided a possible variation on this strumming pattern for the song. 3. This song is written in Te Reo Māori. As such, the correct pronunciation may take some time to learn if you are not familliar with the language. If this is the case for you, I'd reccomend watching a youtube video of this song being performed and a google search on the key differences between written Te Reo and your own language (For example, in Te Reo 'Wh' is pronounced the same as the 'F' in frog in English).
