This is a beautiful version of Steve Earle's "Galway Girl" by Stewart Lee. I love how he gives the song the tragic and sad mood it deserves - this is about a broken heart, after all. This song was played at the very end of his 2010 show "If You Prefer a Milder Comedian, Please Ask For One" with Nick Pynn on the violin. Do yourself a favour and buy that amazing DVD. You can find the song on that YouTube they have now, but experiencing the full performance is a must. Couple of things: Play the A like x02230, Light strums without hitting the e string (xx023x) in the verse sounds better to me, On the D chord, hammer the G string on the 2nd fret when it feels right, He does a run on the G chord sometimes, like ( E |--3--2--0-) but I'm not sure. Intro (with Violin): D-G-D-G-D A-G-A-D Bm-A-G-D A-G-A-G-D A-G-D

I took a stroll on the old long walk

And I knew right then I'd be takin' a whirl

Is there any disapointment in there?

Is your bread and butter salting with regrets?

Bm A G
Do you ever get the feeling you've been cheated...

Bm A G
Well maybe Johnny just a bit
Well the Galway Girl by Steve Earle
                   G
Was my favorite song

G A
But they sold it off to a cyder ad

G D
And my memories went wrong

G D
And I'm asking you son

G D
What's an artist to do?

Bm A G D
For the kind of money they ain' offering you!

G D
And I drop the needle

G D
Give the record a whirl

Bm A G D
But I just can't listen to the Galway Girl

A G (GGGGGGG!)
And Iggy Pop wants to be

                      D
Wants to be your dog!
