He was made of wood but the children know how he came to life one day.

There must have been some magic in that worn out hat they found,

For when they placed it on his head he began to hop around.

Oh Woody the scarecrow, was alive as he could be

And the children say he could laugh and play

Woody the scarecrow felt the sun so bright that day.

So he said, “Let’s run and we’ll have some fun at the beach not far away.

Hopping here and there across the beach saying, “Catch me if you can”.

He lead them to the water’s edge and was about to hop

And he only waited a moment when a lifesaver said, “Stop”.
