Power Chords
To you folks who are afraid of barre chords, I am assuming you mostly play a flat top.
My advice is to get a set of Ernie Ball Super Slinky Pinks. If you have access to an
electric, all the better. Now play your power chords like this
F : 1 3 3 2 x x, no barre, just press the "E" bass string with your first finger. This is
as easy as playing an E chord, believe me! The minor chords require a demi-barre, but
still really easy. Your aching left hand will thank you.
Fm 1 3 3 1 x x F# or Gb 2 4 4 3 x x F#m or Gbm 2 4 4 2 x x G 3 5 5 4 x x Gm 3 5 5 3 x x G# or Ab 4 6 6 5 x x G#m or Abm 4 6 6 4 x x A 5 7 7 6 x x Am 5 7 7 5 x x A# or Bb 6 8 8 7 x x A#m or Bbm 6 8 8 6 x x B 7 9 9 8 x x Bm 7 9 9 7 x x C 8 10 10 9 x x Cm 8 10 10 8 x x C# or Db 9 11 11 10 x x C#m or Dbm 9 11 11 9 x x D 10 12 12 11 x x Dm 10 12 12 10 x x D# or Eb 11 13 13 12 x x D#m or Ebm 11 13 13 11 x x E 12 14 14 11 x x Em 12 14 14 12 x x
And rock it!
