I used the Unknown Pleasures version, and added at the end the additional verse of the 12” version (note there is some minor lyrics differences in other verses). - The barre chords can be seen in this 1979 performance: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02rn39z - On its bass, Hooky starts from the 19th fret on the G string with the open D string as a drone. With a guitar you can start from the 7th fret on G string, with the D string as a drone. But starting from the 12h fret of the D string sounds better with a guitar, even if you lose the open string.
