For the lead part, James is playing a Jerry Jones "mini" guitar. Here's the main backbone on a regular guitar. It's basically in D position on the 12th fret, hammering on the B string 2 frets up. I bar the bottom 3 strings with my index finger, use my middle finger to hold the 13th fret on B, then use my pinky to do the hammer on, and my ring finger to do the 14th fret on the G string. It's the easiest way I can think to do it.
