I came across some tabs of this song on the internet which were wrong, incomplete or unnecessarily difficult,so I decided to write a simple, complete and (hopefully) accurate tab. This is based on a combination of the Razorblade Romance version of the song and the acoustic version on Uneasy Listening Vol. 1, with original tuning being half a step down ( |-eb-Ab-Db-Gb-Bb-Eb-| ). Enjoy... (Intro - play each chord once and let them ring out)
Em Em
Love is a flame that can be tamed

                               Am
And though we are its willing prey, my darling

G D
We are not the ones to blame
(Intro/bridge section - Listen to the song for strum pattern) C D Em D C D Em (Verse 1)
Em Em

                             Am
The glorious art of staining souls, my darling

G D
We are not the ones to blame

Em Em
The more we have the more we want

                          Am
And the more it hurts our hearts, my baby

   G C D
It always ends up in tears (Mute out the D leading into the chorus)
(Chorus)
              C D
So keep on pretending

    G D
Our heaven is worth the waiting

           C D Em
Keep on pretending it's alright

              C D

(Verse 2)
Em Em
When doubts arise the game begins

                      Am
The one we will never win, my baby

    G C D

               C D
So keep on pretending

        Em D
It will be the end of our craving

            C D
Keep on pretending

        Em
It's alright (Keep strumming Em into the solo part ("ooooh, come on...")
(Solo Chords) (Listen to the acoustic version on Uneasy Listening Vol. 1 for help with strum pattern) C D Em D C G Em Em C D Em D-Dsus4-D G G Em (Let Em ring out and fade) (The D-Dsus4-D part is just my personal style of playing , with strum pattern down-up-down on
D, then up on Dsus4, then ghostdown-up on D. If you like just play it as a regular D
chord, or mix in your own style.)
(Chorus)
               C D
So keep on pretending

    G D
Our heaven is worth the waiting

Keep on pretending it's alright

               C D
So keep on pretending

        Em D
It will be the end of our craving

Em It's alright (Keep strumming, but let Em fade out slightly) (Outro)
Em Em
