Tabbed by: Yoshima
Email: [email protected]
Tuning: DGCFAD - This is a whole step down on each string. This is the way
Elliott plays, however it can be played in standard as long
as you can sing that high. I personally play it in standard
with a capo on the 6th or 7th so I can sing it lower.
I've tabbbed as much detail as necessary, the vital structure is here but
I've obviously left out any slight variations and unimportant fill-in notes
as it would just get messy. It's easy to add the extra fill-in notes once
you've got the main rhythm and structure down.

The guitar part for the next verse starts off the same as the first two, again
the chords are strummed and fingerpicked.
G Em C
you turned white like a saint
D/F# G Em C
I'm tired of dancing on a pot of gold flaked paint
D C E Esus4 E
oh we're so very precious, you and I
The song then differs from the previous verses...
C D C E Esus4 E
and everything that you do makes me want to die
C/G D/F# C D C E Esus4 E
oh I just told the biggest lie
C/G D/F# C D C E Esus4 E
I just told the biggest lie
C/G D/F# C D C E Esus4 E

C/G D/F# G
That's about it, just add some fill-in notes and hammer-ons and it will sound near perfect.
