[Verse 1]
*During the verses on lines where you have to play a Dmaj7 directly after the D chord, it's easiest to keep
your hand in position ready to play the Dmaj7 during the D chord. So, instead of playing the normal fingering
for a D you'd lay your index finger across the 2nd fret (relative to capo) but keep your ring or little finger
on the 4th fret of the A (last) string to mute it so you don't play a D6 (all fingers across the 2nd fret).
Then, when it is time to play the Dmaj7, you'll simply press down with your ring or little finger on the 4th
fret and you'll get a Dmaj7!
D Dmaj7 Don't it feel so much better F#m F G D When you see how much you've grown? D Dmaj7 Why are you writing the letter? F#m F G D Why are you taking it on your own? D Why are you taking it? D A Fm D Dm Why are you making it so hard?
[Chorus]
A Fm D Dm So hard A Fm D Dm So hard [Verse 2] *During the D6 chords, Dec plays a xylophone/bells part which you can get the sound of by laying your index finger across the 2nd fret (relative to the capo) for the D6 chord and playing B |--------2----------2---| F#|--2----------2---------| D |-----------------------| a |-----2----------2------| for the duration of the chord :) D Why'd you think you're so special? F#m F D6 Why'd you not think about what you said? D Dmaj7 Quiet, calm, perfect, precious F#m F D6 G D6 Why'd you act like you did today? D You were born vacant and D A Fm D Dm What makes you making it so hard
