Chords

This song is Track 7 on the Album "Thrive." I went and saw Casting Crowns the day this album was released, and they played this song. I can't say that it's 100% accurate, it is pretty close though. If you spot anything wrong either send me an email, or post in the comments and I'll try to fix it. You can remove the Capo, or move it up/down the neck to fit your vocal range. Notes: For the verse. If you listen to the song you will hear that they play two sets of 6 evenly placed downstrokes on the "G" "G/E" and "Em7", and on the last downstroke of each set you play the "A" sting (5th string) open. (e.g. on the last stroke of "G" you will play 300022, instead of 320022) Also, the last time you strum A7sus4 in a sequence it usually sounds good to drop your pinky and play "-02033" for added embellishment. [Verse 1]
                           G
Standing at the water's edge

                                      G/E
I dropped my dreams when I dropped my nets

                       Em7
No hesitation no regrets

I followed you but that was then and this is now
[Verse 2]
                                       G
You washed my feet and you changed my name

                          G/E
I swore I'd never be the same

                                    Em7
Just like the tides I guess people change

'Cause that was then and this is now

I wish I could go back but I don't know how

                            Em7
I remember when I stood my ground
I swore I'd never let you down
                        C
I want to be that man again

[Verse 3]
                                  G
I watched the blind man lift his head

                           G/E
And look his savor in the eyes

                           Em7
I heard a dead man take a breath

     A7sus4 G
Dropped to my knees as I watched him rise
[Verse 4]
                               G
And I felt the sea beneath my feet

                               G/E
As I stepped out on the angry waves

                             Em7
But you saw the storm raging within

                        A7sus4 G
You reached out and calmed me then but this is now
[Chorus]
 G D
I wish I could go back but I don't know how

                            Em7
I remember when I stood my ground
I swore I'd never let you down
                        C
I want to be that man again

   A7sus4 Cadd9
But that was then and this now
[Bridge]
    C Em
Just when I thought my sin had closed the door

     C Em
I see my savior standing on the shore

           Cadd9
With arms wide open

      Cadd9 D A7sus4
Just like the first time you called my name

                   C G
You said that was then and this is now
[Outro]
  G
My child I bore your cross

         D
I wore your crown

                                         Em(7)
When you couldn't come to me my love came down

                              C
So take my hand I'll lead you out

              A7sus4 G
'Cause that was then and this is now

NOTE: For picking pattern on first three lines of the Outro. I pick the Two low notes of the Chord, and then strum the two high notes using a DUDUD pattern. It sounds very close to the original way it's played. (You do have to play Em7, not Em, otherwise it won't sound right.)
