It starts off with a descending D Major scale beginning on D3 and ending on B2 on the word "weak". What follows over "to hear the words I say" are arpeggiated D Maj and A Maj triads followed by a repeated B note. >Studying the Chorus "Tryin Hell Wake Up" Moving into the Chorus, we follow an ascending line G# A B - C# G# A - C D E - F# G# A. >Notes I guess in general take note of the use and effictiveness of the I7, V7 (contains a dim vii triad), and the III in this song. I'm a novice so there are likely better explanations. >Update Sounds like he uses D and Bm in separate occasions of "To hear the..." in the Pre-chorus.
