I copied this from his appearance on the Take Your Shoes Off Podcast with Rick Glassman. I did the best I could to transcribe but it's not perfect. A couple of notes: - The transition from Fmaj7 -> C he pulls off the 2nd finger on the G string and strums up once, then pulls off the pinky and hammers the 2nd finger on the D string to create a C on the next down strum. - He plays some advanced versions of G and Am someimtes, I'm not exactly sure how he plays it but you can watch the video and try to recreate if you want. [Intro] Fmaj7 C E Am Fmaj7 G Am Fmaj7 G Am [Verse 1]
         Fmaj7 C E Am
If every angel who carried my prayers to Jesus

             Fmaj7 C
Was actually faithful,

               G Am
Why doesn't it feel like our God sees us?

          Fmaj7 C
I wrote a hundred times without an answer.

E Am
Still, my mom died from that cancer.

Fmaj7 G Am
Maybe it's the angels I should blame.
[Verse 2]
         Fmaj7 C E Am
If every preacher who carried my hopes to Mary

         Fmaj7 C
Actually reached her,

              G Am
Then why does life feel so scary?

         Fmaj7 C
'Cause I paid my tithe to Abraham,

   E Am
he spent it all on bombs again.

Fmaj7 G Am
Maybe it's my preacher I should blame.
[Chorus]
    Fmaj7 C
Oh, Give me one good reason

E Am
For me to keep believing.

     Fmaj7 C
When everything I'm seeing

         G
Shows me otherwise.

     Fmaj7 C
I am open to receiving,

        E Am
But I'm weary from the weeping.

Fmaj7 C G
Good God, all I'm needing is a sign,

     Fmaj7 G Fmaj7 C E Am Fmaj7 G Am
Just one good reason why.
[Verse 3]
         Fmaj7 C E Am
If every altar where we lay our burdens

         Fmaj7 C
Actually caught 'em,

             G Am
Then none of us would be hurting.

        Fmaj7 C
Well, I bow my head a thousand ways

   E Am
To look away from all the pain.

Fmaj7 G Am
Maybe it's my altar I should blame.
[Chorus]
    Fmaj7 C
So, Give me one good reason

E Am
For me to keep believing.

     Fmaj7 C
When everything I'm seeing

         G
Shows me otherwise.

     Fmaj7 C
I am open to receiving,

        E Am
But I'm weary from the weeping.

Fmaj7 C G
Good God, all I'm needing is a sign,

     Fmaj7 G Am
Just one good reason why.

       Fmaj7 G Fmaj7 C E Am
I need one good reason why.
[Outro]
                 Fmaj7 C
Oh, you know I'm open to receiving,

        E Am
But I'm sick and tired of seeking.

Fmaj7 C G
Good God, all I'm needing is a sign,

     Fmaj7 G Am
Just one good reason why.

       Fmaj7 G Am
I need one good reason why.

       Fmaj7 G Fmaj7 C E Am
I need one good reason why.

                Fmaj7 G C
Oh I just need, one good reason why.
